Main goal

The ICT Cloud & Event Infrastructure Specialist supports the UEFA ICT Cloud Solution Expert in analysing, designing and providing UEFA's cloud information system and cloud application services in compliance with the organisation's software engineering and enterprise architecture standards and the established DevOps practice.

The role is particularly focused on UEFA events and is positioned in the ICT Public/Private Cloud and Hosting team, while also working closely with other ICT teams including those dedicated to event operations, technical solutions, business solutions and information security.

Key responsibilities

Supporting the UEFA ICT Cloud Solution Expert in:

  • building matchday support design and elevating incident management maturity
  • coordinating the DevOps team, technical service experts and technical architects (engineers), particularly for UEFA events
  • creating detailed event plans, including timelines, budgets and logistics
  • cultivating strong relationships with internal and external ICT stakeholders to understand their event vision, goals and constraints
  • ensuring that systems have been documented and that documentation is kept up to date
  • participating in weekly support team leader meetings to provide updates on team activities, facts and figures
  • coordinating problems in accordance with the information technology infrastructure library, including driving continuous service improvement by identifying recurring issues and identifying and addressing root causes with the appropriate teams
  • coordinating the definition and subsequent review of appropriate metrics and key performance indicators and identifying and reporting on trends to ensure the continuous improvement of a high-quality service

Skills & Requirements

Requirements

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in cloud technology
  • At least 2 years of experience in DevOps activities

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent work experience
  • Technical certification (e.g. CCNA, MCSE, AWS Solution Architect Professional) is an important plus

Languages:

  • English: Proficient

Other requirements:

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent knowledge of industry-adopted DevOps and public cloud standards and best practices (CI/CD, IaC, cloud native services/applications)
  • Good knowledge of AWS and Microsoft Azure Cloud technology
  • Familiarity with hosted ICT infrastructures, web architectures, high-traffic internet-facing platforms, virtualisation, storage, systems, disaster recovery, data replication, highly available data centre infrastructures, networking and IP transport, web event scaling, content delivery, cloud technologies and workplace technologies
  • Excellent collaborative, communication and customer engagement skills
  • Proven organisation, problem solving and analytical skills
