Head of Revenue Management

A bit about the role:

Position Summary

The Head of Revenue Management will be responsible for maximising ticket revenues across the fleet by developing and streamlining the pricing approach, inventory management and trading support to facilitate sales channel strategies and maximise demand.

The role requires proven experience in revenue management gained within cruise, travel or hospitality industries. The successful individual will lead small team of Revenue and inventory analysts and collaborate closely with marketing, sales and operations to optimise our revenue performance and enhance the guest experience.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Oversee the daily activities of the Revenue & Inventory team ensuring optimal pricing and inventory decisions are executed to optimise demand and deliver the plan goals.

Pricing

  • Maximise gross ticket / package revenue through planning and pricing execution to deliver the company objectives and maximise opportunity.
  • Set strategic pricing levels relative to the competitive set across multiple markets and currencies.
  • Actively track price positioning relative to competitors on an ongoing basis.
  • Optimise pricing and consumer and track the effectiveness of promotions & offers.

Inventory Management

  • Establish and manage inventory controls and allocations across all sales channels to maximise occupancy and revenue.
  • Develop efficient communication methods detailing revenue needs to sales / marketing / ecommerce departments.
  • Own the Terms and Conditions for Group distribution (including inventory mix and pricing)

General

  • In collaboration with Market Planning develop demand forecasts by destination, inventory type and vessel.
  • Ownership of Terms and Conditions for core business processes that create barriers to sale or impact inventory availability.
  • Lead and mentor the revenue team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and development
  • Manage the ‘offer’ handling and compensation approach for itinerary changes.

Skills & Requirements

About you:

Academic

  • Educated to Degree Level
  • Minimum 5 years of Revenue Management experience within hospitality, cruise or tour operators.

Additional Knowledge

  • Experience of leading a team and effectively managing resources to deliver to deadlines.
  • Highly numerate with strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Advanced analytic skills, ability to draw insight from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Experience of Power BI or equivalent business intelligence tools.
  • Strong competence with PPT.
  • Experience of working with across multiple booking markets an advantage.
