Job Description

KTH Holding is managing a start-up project emanating from leading robotics research at KTH. Join us at the forefront of robotics innovation as we develop cutting-edge solutions for real-world applications. Our team focuses on automation, teleoperation, and innovative approaches to complex object manipulation. We are seeking a talented Software Architect to help shape and implement the software architecture for our robotic systems. This is a one-year contract position starting in January-March 2025 and located to KTH Campus.

As a Software Architect, you will lead the design and development of robust, scalable software systems that support our cutting-edge robotic technologies. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of software architecture for robotics, strong hands-on experience in software development, and a passion for working in a collaborative and fast-paced research environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architectural design of software systems for robotic platforms.
  • Develop and maintain scalable, modular software solutions for complex robotic systems.
  • Collaborate with robotics researchers, hardware engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware.
  • Oversee software quality assurance processes, ensuring high standards of code maintainability and performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development methodologies within the team.

Skills & Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in software architecture, particularly for robotics or embedded systems.
  • Strong proficiency in ROS, Python, C++, and other relevant programming languages.
  • Experience with designing and implementing scalable, modular software systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Work permits for Sweden
  • Experience with machine learning or learning from demonstration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with machine learning or learning from demonstration.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Prior industrial experience in robotics or automation software development.
