About the Role

We’re looking for a Group Financial Controller to join Schibsted Marketplaces, where you’ll play a vital role in managing financial reporting and control functions. Your work will provide essential insights for Group Management and the Board while supporting the organization on complex accounting matters. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely across teams within Finance and other departments, representing Group Financial Reporting in key projects and cross-functional initiatives.

As a Group Financial Controller, you’ll report to the Head of Accounting and Consolidation and have the opportunity to directly impact Schibsted Marketplaces' financial integrity. This position is based in Oslo, and some travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in the monthly consolidation and financial closing process for Schibsted Marketplaces Group.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
  • Draft and review accounting memos to ensure alignment with IFRS standards.
  • Ensure statutory reporting, VAT, and tax compliance.
  • Contribute to internal control processes to uphold regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with other functions to address and resolve accounting issues.
  • Collaborate with the Sustainability team, contributing to sustainability reporting in alignment with ESEF and EU taxonomy requirements.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement by standardizing accounting processes and driving efficiencies.
  • Support ad hoc projects that contribute to Schibsted Marketplaces’ strategic goals.

What We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate will bring a mix of technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for making a difference. To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

  • A Master’s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, with experience in consolidation or auditing, ideally in a large or international organization.
  • Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in English, with proficiency in either Norwegian or Swedish.

We value diverse backgrounds and perspectives. If you don’t meet every qualification but feel your skills and experience align with the role, we encourage you to apply.
