Smart Eye is leading the global market for Driver Monitoring Systems, which will soon be a standard component in every car. Monitoring the driver behavior is safety critical both for normal driving as well as for autonomous driving. We provide challenging and exciting thesis projects for students interested in driver monitoring and cabin monitoring and the technology behind it.

Smart Eye is continuously looking for motivated students and provide thesis projects both during spring and autumn semesters. The applications are examined and promising candidates are called for an interview at our office, where the thesis topics are discussed in person. Projects can be performed both individually or as a group of two persons, where the latter is recommended to encourage collaboration. If you apply as a group, please attach multiple CVs and cover letters.
We have several thesis projects available and more information will be provided personally after your applications. 3D body pose from point cloud, HMI, tracking and more are examples of our Master thesis proposals. We will post the list of proposals in response to your application. Please state your field of interest in your cover letter.
Only applicants that can perform the thesis work on-site in Gothenburg will be considered. We currently do not accommodate relocations from abroad. Welcome with your application!

Skills & Requirements
Required qualifications
- Completed B.Sc. and ongoing M.Sc. in a relevant engineering field such as Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Automation and Mechatronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Interaction Design etc.
- A good understanding of mathematics (e.g. linear algebra, calculus) if applicable to project.

Programming skills; script programming, preferably Python, but any relevant software programming experience is sufficient.

Completed or ongoing courses in machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, image analysis, image processing or human-computer interaction.

Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Good-to-have-skills:
- Experience with machine learning libraries such as PyTorch and Tensorflow.

Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.

Experience with code versioning tools i.e. Git, GitLab, GitHub.

Experience with working on machine learning projects.
