Main goal

The Staff Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing staff accommodation for major UEFA national team competitions where specific staff hotels are required, including the men’s and women’s European championships and Nations League finals. Part of the venue logistics team who provide a range of services to staff at competitions, from furniture provision and on-site office set-up to break stations and water supplies.

Key responsibilities

  • Creating or approving staff hotel concepts, setting the criteria for each event
  • Drafting and negotiating contracts with hotels with the help of the UEFA legal team and ensuring that they are signed
  • Creating and managing the staff accommodation budget, providing regular updates and carefully monitoring all costs
  • Presenting and reporting on on hotel concepts, budgets and plans to upper management
  • Overseeing the logistics for event working visits and draws as required
  • Working closely with the central services team on each event's staffing plan and the travel, accommodation and conferences team to review the booking situation and deal with any potential overbooking
  • Recruiting and managing a small team of fixed and short-term freelancers, coordinators and assistants to support planning and service delivery during busy periods

Skills & Requirements

Requirements

Experience:

- 4-6 years of experience in managing accommodation for large-scale events, ideally sporting events
- 4-6 years of experience in working with event-planning databases

Education:

Bachelor's degree in in tourism, hotel or travel would be an advantage

Languages:

-English // Proficient

Other requirements:

- Open to travel and working abroad
- Good spoken and written level in French and/or German would be an advantage.
- Confidence when meeting or negotiating with representatives of hotels
- Able to forge strong working relationships
