Do you have Salesforce expertise, and would you like to join one of the most advanced and exciting technology teams in southern Norway?

As a member of our in-house development team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our existing systems to meet new business requirements driven by our organization and industry. Collaborating with your team, you will develop innovative solutions to ensure our business remains competitive and continuously update the Gard technology stack.

You will be involved in projects from the original idea, their design, implementation, testing through to delivery and ongoing maintenance and growth. The team is self-managed within the development area and your day-to-day tasks will be interesting with full support to hone your skills across the technology stack.

We work on cross-technology API's to support our development teams in integrating our systems.

Are you the one we are looking for?

Finding the right person is more important to us than ticking all the right boxes, however, here are some of the things we think a strong candidate will have:

  • Salesforce Expertise: Proficiency in Salesforce development (Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components) with experience in configuring and customizing Salesforce solutions to enhance functionality and user experience.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with modern programming languages and frameworks, especially C#, Dotnet Core, and JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular or Vue, is a plus.
  • Cloud Knowledge: Experience with Azure and other cloud solutions for integration with Salesforce, plus understanding of the Azure stack.
  • Agile Development: Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), DevOps, and CI/CD processes, with a strong focus on delivering reliable, high-quality software.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, essential for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Educational Background: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. However, a strong record of Salesforce development experience can be equally valuable.
  • Innovative Mindset: Proactive, creative, and results-driven with a solid grasp of digital tools and opportunities to support continuous improvement and business performance.

Core technologies, methodologies and developer tools we use:

  • Languages & Frameworks: Salesforce Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), C#, Dotnet Core, Razor/Blazor, JavaScript/TypeScript (React/Vue).
  • Databases: SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Oracle.
  • Integrations: MuleSoft, Salesforce integrations.
  • Version Control & Development Methodologies: Git, Kanban, Scrum, CI/CD tools.

Please send us your CV along with a cover letter. We perform background checks on all relevant candidates through our partner EY

About the company

For more than 100 years Gard, one of the world’s leading marine insurers, has been helping the marine industries to protect their assets and safeguard their income. Having expanded from our origins in southern Norway to a network of 13 offices across the globe, we have witnessed the impact the sea can have and have learnt a thing or two.

Despite our breadth and depth of experience and expertise, we try to learn something new every day to prepare our Members and clients for their next journey, and to find and deliver the right solutions. So, whenever the unexpected arises it is good to know that someone is ready, willing and able to assist; someone with expertise that has been refined for over a century.

It is not just what we do, but how we do it that delivers the best value in the market – matching our expertise with an unrivalled commitment to what we do. We will turn every stone to find a solution and see it carried through.
