SAP Data Engineer - Medior/Senior

Choosing Capgemini means choosing a company where you will be empowered to shape your career in the way you’d like, where you’ll be supported and inspired by a collaborative community of colleagues around the world, and where you’ll be able to reimagine what’s possible. Join us and help the world’s leading organizations unlock the value of technology and build a more sustainable, more inclusive world.

Our Belgian SAP BI & Data team is made up of a dynamic and passionate group of individuals. With a collective experience ranging from 2 to +20 years, our colleagues have dedicated a significant portion of their careers to Capgemini, showing how much we love it here. From database migrations to data warehouses and dynamic reporting, we take it upon ourselves to maximize data-potential and empower our customers to extract the most value from their data.

Your role

As a SAP Data Engineer, you'll be the brains behind the technology that powers data projects. You'll design, build, and maintain the infrastructure that allows clients to process and analyze mountains of data. Think data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehouses. You'll ensure the data is accurate and trustworthy, collaborate with our data scientists to uncover insights, and troubleshoot systems to make sure everything runs smoothly. Plus, you'll get to work with cutting-edge tools and technologies like SAP BTP, SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud. If you're passionate about solving complex problems and want to work on the forefront of data engineering, this position is for you.

Key tasks & activities

  • You act as an experienced data engineer on data analysis, data modeling and report design projects. You engage in a diverse range of activities, including delivery planning, specification writing, data flow design, development, testing, rolling out and supporting the day-to-day functioning of analytical platforms.
  • You interact with clients during workshops and trainings, forming the key link between customer requirements and technical solutions.
  • You lead the implementation team, offering guidance and training to junior members while ensuring strict adherence to the project plan.
  • You work closely with your project manager and the project team, but also with functional colleagues to create the best solution possible. You act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams.
  • You provide support in proposals, product developments, and further research around Data Solutions.

Knowledge & Experience

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in delivering (SAP) business intelligence solutions, showcasing extensive analytical skills and technical knowledge on data engineering.
  • You have acquired skills within:
    • Data analysis: examining large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights that inform business decisions. This requires proficiency in statistical methods and the use of data analysis languages such as SQL, Python, or R.
    • Data modeling: designing and implementing data structures that facilitate efficient data storage, retrieval, and analysis. This involves a deep understanding of database and data warehouse design principles, preferably implemented on SAP BW/4HANA or SAP Datasphere technology.
    • Report design: using front-end design tools such as SAP BO, SAP Analytics Cloud (preferred), Tableau, or Power BI to translate complex data findings into easily understandable formats for various stakeholders.
  • You possess knowledge on one or more of the main functional areas within a business, e.g., sales & distribution, purchasing, material management, financial management, and Human capital management.
  • Fluent in Dutch/French and English.
