We are looking for an experienced Launch Director to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is part of our excellent Leadership team based in Heide, Germany. By joining us, you will play a key role in establishing Northvolt Drei and help build one of Germany’s first large-scale battery factories.

About the Job

As the Director of Launch, you will lead Product Launch and Change Management. These teams are responsible for coordinating with key stakeholders, managing product introduction, overseeing changes, and planning process improvements to ensure seamless launch execution. You will provide strategic guidance, aligning resources and schedules to achieve successful project outcomes while meeting budget and quality goals. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you’ll collaborate across departments to drive a smooth start-up of operations in a fast-paced and international environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with significant leadership experience in manufacturing and large-scale, greenfield projects. You will have the chance to shape the future of Northvolt Drei’s production landscape, working closely with the Plant Manager to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

You will be part of our Operations Leadership Team in Heide, working in a fast-paced setting with colleagues who share a commitment to sustainability. As the Director of Launch, you will help build a world-class launch team that can scale with Northvolt's expanding operations, playing a vital role in the company’s ambitious growth plans.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver launch projects punctually and within budget constraints
  • Develop and manage strategic product launch plans
  • Act as the interface between factory operations and Customer Program manager
  • Ensure alignment of process equipment and product design with manufacturability standards
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and qualification of equipment
  • Facilitate smooth ramp-up and ramp-down of production processes
  • Leading the change management of product/ process and enable smooth integration to ramping / steady state production
  • Coordinate timely integration of product and equipment modifications

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • 10+ years working experience of relevant industrial experience of product launch, operational excellence and/or factory ramp-ups.
  • Track record as Industrialization or Program Director driving complex project elements in design and execution.
  • Must have worked in multicultural environment.
  • A relevant university preferably Engineering degree.
  • Experience of launching product preferably in the battery industry
