About the Role

As the Director of Strategic Development - Digital Pathology, you will play a critical role in shaping the digital pathology market in North America. You will drive strategy, educate key stakeholders, and expand Sectra's presence in the market. Your focus will be on securing happy customers, increasing market share, and driving revenue growth in the pathology space. This position reports to the Global Product Manager in Sectra HQ in Sweden, and you will collaborate cross-functionally across sales, marketing, product management, and professional services to strategically position Sectra as a leader in digital pathology.

Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Strategic Development - Digital Pathology, you will:

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to grow digital pathology in North America, collaborating with Product Management to influence the product roadmap and go-to-market strategies
  • Build trusted relationships with clients to ensure high satisfaction, drive business growth, and identify new opportunities within existing customer bases
  • Serve as the digital pathology product expert, providing strategic input on product development and supporting marketing and sales efforts, including demos, webinars, trade shows, and customer engagements
  • Partner with sales and support teams to drive business, meet quota goals, and expand Sectra’s footprint in the digital pathology market
  • Represent Sectra at US pathology congresses, developing success stories to enhance brand awareness and educate the market on the value of an integrated digital pathology platform
  • Manage strategic executive-level meetings and prepare regular reports and forecasts for stakeholders
  • Act as the Product Success Manager/Customer Success Lead for Digital Pathology in North America, ensuring superior service and outcomes
  • Participate in the Sweden-based product team and travel internationally as needed (1-3 times per year)

Skills & Requirements

What You Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare IT, preferably in digital pathology or a closely related field
  • Extensive knowledge of the US healthcare system, including pathology management and workflows
  • Proven ability to educate customers on digital transformation and improve pathology workflows
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to calculate ROI for customers and align sales strategies with their goals
  • Excellent presentation skills and proficiency in discussing complex IT solutions with non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across global teams
  • Fluent in English and based in the US or Canada, preferably in the Eastern Time Zone
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD or advanced degree in a related field
  • A background in medical or engineering education at the MSc level or higher
  • Existing network within the North American pathology space
  • Experience with AI and its application in digital pathology
  • Deep understanding of enterprise imaging and cloud-based solutions in healthcare
