Senior Data Engineer

A bit about the role:

Responsible for expanding and optimizing HX’s data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain efficient data pipeline architecture.
  • Design and implement solutions to support data lake and data warehousing infrastructure.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
  • Engage with stakeholders in HX to understand our business processes and value drivers in order to capture business requirements in data modelling
  • Build and maintain machine learning data processing pipelines as Hurtigruten matures as a data-driven company in the future.
  • Support the team through knowledge sharing, reviewing pull-requests and general feedback to your colleagues

Skills & Requirements

About you:

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or relevant experience
  • Speak and write English fluently
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
  • SQL and Python knowledge and experience working with relational and non-relational data.
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
  • Knowledge/experience in DBT and Databricks is a plus
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with other programming languages is an advantage, but not a requirement
