The Position

Pierce is one of Europe’s most successful online retailers. We are growing rapidly, and we are currently looking for a Category Manger in Stockholm, Sweden. Would you like to be part of a dynamic Category Management team in a company with close to 400 people, that sells across 18 European markets and manages suppliers around the globe, then this could be the role for you!

We are looking for a commercially driven, entrepreneurial, high energy category manager, who will own and develop our gear category. This role would be responsible for all commercial aspects of the category, including sales, profit, stock development and supplier relationships.

The key goals for this role include:

  • Increase sales and profit in line with projected budgets
  • Balance product availability against the desire to minimize stock value and help increase stock turnover
  • Create a compelling and differentiated product offering in the market, make Pierce the company of choice for your product range

Responsibilities include:

  • Own and drive the specified product assortment
  • Develop yearly category plans and manage the execution roadmap, with clear milestones and deliverables
  • Expand assortment, sales and profit
  • Manage existing suppliers and identify new supplier opportunities
  • Negotiate supplier terms and conditions
  • Conduct periodic supplier reviews
  • Instigate and lead projects to develop new private label products
  • Manage category performance, track kpi's, identify opportunities to improve the business
  • Plan and develop an integrated product marketing plan in close collaboration with the other departments

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor level education or similar
  • Minimum of 2 year previous experience in purchasing or category management
  • Solid understanding of how to market and sell product online, preferable from an ecommerce environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English both in writing and speaking
  • General knowledge of MS Office and PIM and ERP systems
  • Experiece in the retail/e-tail industry from sports, leasure, fashion or motorcycle
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly in a fast paced, fast growing international and multi-cultural organization
  • We expect you to be a team player, to live and breathe the Pierce values, to operate with a sense of urgency and to bring a real winners mentality
  • As part of this role we expect you to travel internationally to attend fairs, events and supplier meetings

2005All started in a garage with two MX enthusiasts who wanted to change the shopping experience for their follow petrolheads.

2009Pierce AB began with the launch of 24MX by 4 employees. Initial focus was on selling parts and equipment to the Motocross world.

2013XLmoto launched with a special focus on onroad motorcycle equipment. At this point a European wide presence was already built with the focus on bigger markets.

2013SledStore went live with pow passion and endless trails. SledStore is a Mecca for the Nordic snowmobile fanatics.

2016Our own European distribution center, PDC, opened their gates and storage racks to offer our customers an even bigger range, quicker deliveries and excellent service.

2017Pierce announced the acquisition of MotoBuykers, a leading Spanish e-commerce motorcycle player, to strengthen its footprint in southern Europe.

2018Pierce announced the acquisition of MX Vice, Europe's largest online community for motocross.
