Almost a year ago, Danish and Finnish MobilePay and Norwegian Vipps joined forces to become Nordic leaders in fintech. We are now looking for a new college in our Legal Team as a Senior Legal Counsel for our Oslo office.
The Team:
If you are our new legal colleague, you will be part of a Nordic team of business minded legal counsels located in Oslo, Copenhagen, and Helsinki. We would love for you to contribute to our ambitious team spirit with your personal and professional commitment.
Our team supports Vipps MobilePay’s business goals while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. We are dedicated to making things happen and taking responsibility, supporting colleagues across the organization. For the team to succeed, we rely on individual competencies and collaboration across our markets.
We work with a wide range of regulatory requirements within important areas such as payment and other financial regulation, contract law, competition law, outsourcing, marketing law and AML as well as corporate law and intellectual property rights. We take great pride in our participation in the strategic projects and must win battles of the company, while also managing day-to-day tasks.
Depending on your experience and interests, your responsibilities will include:
- Legal assessments of everything related to the provisioning of payment solutions and being an e-money institution
- Supporting the business in strategic projects and decisions
- Collaboration with product development colleagues, when making new and reviewing existing products and solutions
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts in collaboration with the commercial teams as well as driving legal assessments of IT contracts
- Providing general guidance on legal issues and good governance to our colleagues - doing right and doing it smart at the same time
- Assessment of new legislation within areas relevant for Vipps MobilePay
Skills & Requirements
About you:
You have a positive and open mind, not afraid of jumping into tasks and taking responsibility in all you do. In Vipps MobilePay we are never limited of what we have never tried before – we work as one team and find a way forward!
We expect that you:
- Have a Norwegian Master of Laws and at least 5 years of experience from legal work in the financial industry, relevant public authority or a law firm.
- Have a strong integrity, commitment to deadlines, and motivation to tackle ever-changing tasks.
- Provide clear legal advice, and able to explain practical consequences and risks and see solutions to legal issues.
- Are business minded with strong communication skills.
- Feel comfortable managing different internal as well as external stakeholders, and you are fluent in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written.
