Sustainability Lead

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Sustainability Lead to join our team. This key role involves working directly with the Lantmannen Unibake UK (LUUK) senior leadership team (SLT) and global stakeholders to drive our sustainability agenda. You will represent LUUK as a pioneer in sustainability, both within the company and externally, managing the translation of global commitments into local execution.
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding experience in change or project management and multi-level communications.
You will:
- Manage and drive the UK Sustainability priority agenda to deliver our global and local commitments and meet agreed targets
- Coordinate workstreams in key sustainability areas: Climate (Carbon Reduction), Health and People
- Support workstream leads to achieve set goals and ensure conformance to targets
- Collaborate with internal and external communications teams to develop high-quality sustainability communications
- Working with customers to support collaborative sustainability agendas supporting the right agendas with a commercial hat on
- Support Marketing teams in linking sustainability commitments to brand execution
- Maintain continuous dialogue with the central sustainability team on local priorities
- Develop and manage the sustainability calendar of events and learning
- Respond to customer requests for data and questionnaires
- Develop relationships cross functionally to share expertise and facilitate cooperation
- Become an expert in sustainability areas and stay informed through media, trade publications, and industry conferences
You’ll be great at:
- Staying updated on the latest sustainability developments in climate/emissions, health/nutrition, packaging and social issues and distil across the organisation
- Engaging and inspiring customers, suppliers and team mates at all levels to gain buy-in for sustainability plans prioritising customer needs to support the sustainability agenda and develop competitive advantage
- Developing tools and training for the wider organisation to enhance their sustainability journey
You’ll have:
- Proven experience in a sustainability role, preferably within a corporate environment (would be desirable but not essential)
- Strong understanding of sustainability issues and trends
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to influence and guide senior leadership, suppliers and customers
- Strong project management skills
- Passion for sustainability and making a positive impact
