Procurement Consultant

Background:

The current HX Procurement department is working with a very thin department with global responsibility. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Indirect Procurement Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in managing and optimizing procurement processes for non-production related goods and services, with a primary focus on supporting the implementation of a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This role involves assisting with strategic sourcing, contract support, supplier management, and cost-saving initiatives.

Job Summary

This role is an autonomous team addition within procurement which needs a good understanding of market, networking and supply chain and wants to be involved in the operation.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Assist in gathering and compiling procurement data.
  • Conduct preliminary analysis of spending patterns and trends.
  • Support in preparing reports and presentations based on data analysis.

Supplier Research and Evaluation:

  • Conduct research to identify potential suppliers.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance and capabilities.
  • Support in maintaining supplier databases and records.

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support for procurement activities, such as scheduling meetings and preparing documents.
  • Assist in managing procurement documentation and records.

Contract Management:

  • Help in drafting and reviewing contracts and agreements.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance.
  • Support in the negotiation process by gathering relevant information and preparing documents.

Process Improvement Support:

  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Support the implementation of best practices and new procurement processes.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Facilitate communication between the procurement team and other departments.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth procurement operations.

Technology Utilization:

  • Utilize procurement software and tools to support procurement activities.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating procurement systems.

Training and Development:

  • Participate in training sessions to develop procurement skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in organizing and delivering training programs for other team members.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare regular reports on procurement activities and performance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement documentation and records.

Support in Cost Reduction Initiatives:

  • Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support the implementation of cost-saving initiatives and track their progress.

    Skills & Requirements

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Familiarity with procurement processes and tools is a plus.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in procurement.

    Background:

    • Enjoy working with ERP-Systems environment (MMS, MXP) and Microsoft Office application.
    • Experience as a Procurement Manager F&B in the cruise sector
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
    • English – Excellent skills written and oral (other language such as German, Norwegian and others are additional benefit for this role)
