Job Description

KTH Holding AB invests in companies, intellectual property and technologies spun out from KTH research and education. The aim is to enable technologies and ideas from KTH to reach the market and create impact. You will join a small team that is deeply connected both to research at KTH and to the Swedish innovation ecosystem and beyond. Together we are dedicated to enable the best support for our growing portfolio of 60+ companies.

In this role you will work closely with our investment managers to invest in and support startups from KTH. You will work with a large deal flow of potential investments in the form of early stage projects/ technologies. You will be at the frontier of science with potential investments coming from all tech fields ranging from biotech, energy systems to AI.

This role represents a unique opportunity for you to get exposure to exciting technologies, gain experience in investments/venture capital and work hands-on with different areas of venture creation for early stage technologies (business development, legal, financing, building teams etc).

Your tasks will be diverse and include for example market analysis, financial modelling, performing and administering due diligence of potential investments, supporting fund raising for portfolio companies. Your tasks will also include business development to help establish new spin-off companies from research and intellectual property (for example via matching entrepreneurs to research teams). You will also support us in establishing a larger fund and conducting portfolio analysis.

Your role

We offer you a unique opportunity to work with tech-based startups in different stages and fields. You will get to dive into the innovation ecosystem at KTH, Stockholm and beyond as well as the venture capital community. This is a newly established role as we are scaling our operations and support. Hence the role will include many different tasks, from establishing new ventures, to evaluating and supporting our investments but also more administrative tasks and working with our marketing and communications.

In your role you will:

  • Support investment managers with various tasks related to building and managing deal flow and portfolio management.
  • Assist in evaluating new investment opportunities including meetings with researcher and student founder teams, performing financial analysis and market studies.
  • Support the team with various administrative or organizing tasks e.g. due diligence, reporting and occasionally managing meetings and events.
  • Support in venture creation i.e. establishing new companies out of research projects and intellectual property e.g. marketing, building teams, securing funding, company registrations.
  • Support investment managers with business development and fundraising in existing portfolio.
  • Support marketing and PR for KTH Holding e.g. press releases, web and social media channels
  • Build and maintain a relevant community e.g. network of investors, partners.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • You have a Master’s or higher level studies in relevant area such as science, technology or business.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience from similar relevant tasks e.g. working, with investments or management consulting.
  • You have the ability to analyze science and complex technologies (incl. from a business perspective) being it fusion, hydrogen or biotech.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English
  • You are analytical and can package and present your results and conclusions in a clear way.
  • You are structured with a good sense for order and administrative tasks.

Meritorious

  • Double degree in both technology/engineering and business
  • You have a strong interest in entrepreneurship and innovation, especially tech-based.
  • Experience from startup and/or investments/venture capital
  • You are result driven, can take own responsibility and work independently with multiple tasks simultaneously

About the employment

 You will work from KTH central campus and we expect you to primarily work on-site. The employment is valid until further notice according to agreement.
