Do you have a passion for international trade and a desire to empower Swedish companies in their international growth? We're on the lookout for a new colleague experienced in practical export operations, preferably within customs procedures or logistics.

Business Sweden has a unique mandate, assigned by the Swedish government and the private sector to accelerate the global growth of Swedish companies, and support international companies to invest and expand in Sweden.

Successful export transactions rely on adherence to regulations and the implementation of efficient export management practices. With global trade evolving in a landscape of increasing rules and regulations, companies are in increasing need of guidance to navigate export procedures and mitigate risks. Our team Trade & Invest Facilitation, consist of 8 advisors with different expertise within export procedures to support companies in Sweden growing their international sales. We provide free of charge advisory, trainings, digital tools and support internally in international consulting projects.

Your role will mainly involve, but will not be limited to: 
 

  • Engaging daily with businesses to foster better export outcomes for Swedish companies.
  • Delivering tailor made advisory to companies with various inquiries about export and import procedures, such as customs formalities, export documents, rules of origin, logistics and delivery terms, essentially practical aspects that companies need to manage for successful international sales.
  • Responsible for developing and keeping one of our online guides up to date.
  • Staying ahead of evolving trade regulations within your field of expertise and leveraging these insights to the benefit of our customer as well as identify new opportunities for developing our services and partnerships. 
  • You’re expected to organize and participate as a lecturer in our open webinars and corporate training sessions. This will vary depending on your field, and level, of expertise.

The role is based in Stockholm and works closely with the other trade advisors in the team and occasionally with our teams and clients around the world.

Formal requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree or similar in a relevant field such as economy, law or engineering.
  • Bring a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in international trade, with a strong understanding of trade procedures, both within the single market and outside of the EU.
  • Ideally, possess a background from the Swedish Customs or an internationally active company.
  • Have a keen interest in, and be curious about, the practical aspects of international trade and drive to enhance our service offerings in this domain.
  • Have the ability to convey complex legislation in a simple and understandable manner for customers.
  • Demonstrate effective presentation skills or a willingness to develop in this area.
  • Possess excellent proficiency in both written and spoken Swedish and English.
