Would you like to apply your development skills in a global cybersecurity company? As our Senior Data Engineer you will work on the data platform that provides insight how F-Secure's world-class cybersecurity products and services perform. This platform processes data from various sources to generate insights about product usage and protection efficiency. Our systems extensively use AWS services and are built with a DevOps/SRE mindset, incorporating CI/CD, self-healing, elasticity, and scalability.

As a key member of our Data Engineering team, your work will directly impact the effectiveness of our solutions, ensuring that our data infrastructure is robust, scalable, cost-effective, and capable of responding to emerging threats. 

The teams purpose is to help collect and connect data within F-Secure and provide a data platform for various reporting purposes. For example, as F-Secure's vision is to be the number one security experience company in the world, our team is responsible for providing the data for measuring how close we are in achieving that vision. We also report to our partners how we have protected their customers and how different security features have been used. We work with security, subscription and application telemetry data and our systems are built in the cloud.

Our Technology Stack 

Our tech stack includes AWS services like S3, Kinesis, DynamoDB, Redshift, and Athena, along with tools such as Cloudformation, Terraform, Jenkins, and Docker. We are a cloud-native team based in Helsinki, Finland, working with security, subscription, and application telemetry data to provide a comprehensive data platform for various reporting purposes. 

Key responsibilities:

• Take ownership of designing, developing, deploying, and monitoring data systems, ensuring high performance and reliability. 
• Work closely with analysts, developers, product managers, data scientists and security experts to translate data needs into actionable insights that drive business value. 
• Design, develop, and manage data enrichment and processing pipelines, handling millions of events every day. 
• Plan and design new data solutions with the team and other functions, keeping our systems cutting-edge and cost effective. 
• Stay up to date with new technologies, evaluate their potential, and integrate them into our existing systems. 

What are we looking for?

• At least 5+ years in data or cloud engineering with a strong background in building and managing cloud-based systems. 
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, data management, and working with relational or NoSQL databases. 
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, for example AWS services such as S3, Kinesis, Glue, Redshift, or Athena, combined with strong programming skills in Python or NodeJS.
• Proven ability to design, develop, deploy, and monitor cloud systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability. 
• Ability to collaborate effectively with business analysts, data scientists, developers, and other stakeholders to drive actionable insights. 
• Full professional proficiency in English.

Make sure to mention these if you're looking for bonus points:

• Experience with data engineering tools such as DataBricks, Airflow, dbt, and ETL orchestration. 
• Knowledge of AWS lower-level fundamentals.
• Experience with Kafka.
