The job
As a Maintenance Engineer you will take charge of ensuring smooth operations and maintenance across all installations in approximately 50 different depot operations. With a focus on process optimization and technical expertise, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects, enhance efficiency, and create a safe and productive work environment. Your expertise will be crucial in implementing, improving, and maintaining our technical installations and products, driving our organization forward with cutting-edge solutions. Furthermore, you will provide valuable insights to management on cost-effective investments that guarantee high-performance and efficiency of our technical installations and products, both in the short and long term.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will take ownership of managing and controlling the budget and costs of depot operations, ensuring cost efficiency and maximizing profitability. Your expertise in spare parts control and inventory management will be instrumental in supporting our regions and maintaining optimal operational performance.

Additionally, you will also be responsible for optimizing work methods and processes to enhance daily operations in our depots. Key responsibilities include analyzing work methods, proposing improvements, executing installation upgrades, coordinating crisis management, and establishing technical service departments in new depots to support regional operations.

For this role it is necessary to travel between 50% to 70% of your time to many different depot operations in Europe and the United Kingdom. Skills & Requirements

You

You are a highly motivated and results-oriented professional with a combination of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a passion for process optimization. Furthermore, you possess strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively. Additionally, you have exceptional planning and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.

Further:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferably in industrial engineering;
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience;
  • Familiar with various project methodologies (e.g. Prince2, Agile, Scrum, DevOps);
  • Experienced with IT and maintenance software programs;
  • High level in Microsoft Excel;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (B2 level). An additional language is beneficial preferably (e.g. Dutch, German or Spanish);
  • You can travel through Europa and the United Kingdom;
  • A valid driving license to drive across Europe and the UK.

-We are founded in 1992.

-We introduced our iconic green reusable plastic crates (RPCs) in the 90's, which became a staple in the transportation and storage of fresh produce across Europe.

-In the mid-2000s, we implemented RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) technology to track and trace our RPCs more efficiently.

-In 2021 we started using the first recycled folding trays.

-We’ve got over 70 service centres all over Europe – you can find us in most countries. So, wherever you are in Europe, our efficient network has got you covered.

-Through new technologies and knowledge, we were able to lower our washing temperature in 2022 which resulted in significant reduction of between 47% and 52% in our gas consumption.

-In 2017 we agreed that we want to reduce our carbon footprint by 20% by 2025 by implementing several improvement projects.
