About the team:
As a Senior Platform Engineer at Vipps MobilePay, you’ll join a team of four Engineers in our Oslo office. Data Platform is part of the Data & Insights area with 18 people in total.
Team Data Platform provides a marketplace for data and tooling for all the users. We are building and managing a modern data platform that connects data producers with data consumers. We enable teams to gain insights and solve problems with data (BI/DS/ML/AI) whilst respecting our users’ privacy and customers’ business interests.
Our data platform is built on Databricks and Unity Catalog. The infrastructure is managed with Terraform, automations with GitHub actions, and integrations with Python. The analytics community uses tools such as dbt, Databricks notebooks and dashboards, Mixpanel and PowerBI.
What will you be doing?
As a Senior Platform Engineer in Data & Insight, you'll collaborate with a talented team of data engineers, analysts, and architects across our Oslo, Aarhus, and Copenhagen offices. A typical month includes:
- Doing development in Terraform, Databricks and Python to fix, scale, extend or build new data platform services
- Designing, planning and prioritising fixes and new features
- Working with tech leads and area architects to design integrations to and applications on top of the data platform
- Coaching and learning
… and of course slowing down and taking a walk to grab some Joe & the Juice or lunch at Munchies after a team retrospective, maintenance day or design workshop!
Skills & Requirements
What we're looking for:
We’re looking for candidates with solid software development and data infrastructure backgrounds. Other experiences and competencies that might describe you:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data, software, platform, or ML engineering
- Experience leading complex technology projects
- Experience with Python and Spark
- Experience with Data Warehouse and Data Lake architectures and systems Platform, DevX or similar experience providing internal tools and infrastructure for developers
- Fluency in both written and spoken English, as English is our working language.
