About the role

In this role, you will leverage our expertise and reputation to expand our reach in the global energy sector. You will advise and lead client engagements, driving company sales activities focusing on energy-related digital and data transformation projects. Your days will be dynamic, consisting of business development and proactive sales work for existing and new energy clients. You'll oversee complex projects that address the unique challenges of the energy industry, from smart grid implementations to customer engagement platforms and sustainable energy solutions.

It is crucial to take holistic responsibility for the health and well-being of our energy clients. You'll need to understand their evolving needs in a rapidly changing energy landscape, helping them navigate the challenges of decarbonization, decentralization, and digitalization. Your role will be pivotal in establishing Futurice as a go-to partner for digital transformation in the international energy market.

Our energy clients span the entire value chain, including grid companies, generation businesses, distributors, energy traders and retailers. As a key team member, we expect you to understand the energy sector's digital landscape and what it takes to build transformative solutions for demanding energy clients. Experience in leading complex energy-related projects is essential, either as a project lead or in a strategic advisory capacity.

Your location can be anywhere in Germany and you can work remote-first basis, meaning you can work from the comfort of your own home, occasionally visit the office, and travel on-site to client locations as needed. While we are open for candidates based in the UK, it is important that they possess fluent German language skills and have a strong network in the German energy sector.

Skills & Requirements

We are looking for a Principal Strategy Consultant with extensive experience in digital transformation within the energy sector to join our global growth team. Here are some things we’d expect of a strong candidate:

• 10+ years of experience in advising and leading client engagements in the energy sector, with a focus on digital transformation
• Proven track record in business development and driving sales activities for energy-related consulting and digital transformation services
• Deep domain knowledge of the energy industry, including trends in renewables, smart grids, and energy markets
• Experience in developing and implementing digital strategies for various types of energy companies
• Strong understanding of how digital technologies can address key challenges in the energy sector
• Working knowledge of data analytics, AI, and Generative AI applications in the energy industry
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with C-level executives in the energy industry
• Knowledge of regulatory landscapes affecting the energy industry
• Understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts and their application in the energy sector 
• Experience in running and coaching multidisciplinary teams on complex energy projects
• Fluent in German and English, with English as a primary working language. 

About the team

You’ll join an exciting new global growth initiative focused on expanding our reach and impact with multinational clients. As part of this strategic effort, we are building a high-impact Global Growth Team to spearhead our international expansion, particularly in the automotive and energy sectors.

As a Principal Strategy Consultant, you'll be a key player in this team, working alongside other Consultants, global salespeople, board-level industry advisors, and dedicated marketing professionals.

Joining at this formative stage offers a unique opportunity to shape the direction and capabilities of this new global function. You'll contribute your expertise in the energy sector and insights into building effective go-to-market strategies for multinational clients. 

This is a greenfield opportunity to join a team redefining Futurice's global growth approach. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to scale our business, particularly in data and AI services, and achieve our vision of becoming the partner of choice for multinational companies in digital transformation.

Compensation

Your complete compensation package will be discussed in detail during the recruitment process. Our salary model is designed to offer a range of levels based on three factors: skills, responsibilities and impact. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where every employee can thrive and advance in their career and become better versions of themselves.

During the initial interview round, we will discuss the salary range for this position. We offer a fixed salary with the possibility of performance-based bonuses and additional benefits.
