DevOps Specialist

A bit about the role:

An opportunity to join a growing business and take responsibility for managing our Microsoft Azure and InTune/SCCM environments. The role of DevOps Specialist is instrumental in delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service with a focus on high availability and performance. An ability to implement and manage Infrastructure as Code, automate and streamline deployment processes and continuously improve and optimise to deliver the best service to our business at land and at sea is key to success. There is likely to be occasional ship travel included as part of the role as some activities may not be performed remotely. There is also an on-call element to the role since our ships sail in multiple regions and time zones globally.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate and streamline deployment processes.
  • Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Manage and maintain Intune and SCCM to deliver effective endpoint management.
  • Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to build, deployment, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure systems are patched in accordance with agreed maintenance windows.
  • Ensure security best practices are followed in all DevOps processes and mitigate any vulnerabilities.
  • Continuously improve and optimize DevOps practices and tools.
  • Provide support and guidance to development teams on DevOps best practices.

  • Azure, Azure AD and Azure administrator
  • Terraform
  • DNS
  • Webservers - Azure WebApp, Apache TomCat, NGINX, IIS
  • Automation tools
  • Citrix certified administration - Xenapp
  • Scripting - Powershell, Perl script, SQL
  • Microsoft Intune and SCCM
  • NetData Monitoring
  • ITIL Foundation V4 / ComTIA A+ or comparable certification/training​ desirable
  • IT relevant degree educated or equivalentexperiencemanaging enterprise cloud environments
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a physical/virtual team
  • Ability to collaborate with non-technical users
  • Ability to resolve challenging technical issues
