We are looking for a passionate Manager Training Development who will be responsible for overseeing the efficient planning, implementation, and evaluation of training programs within the organization. As part of our new Gigafactory in Heide (Northvolt Drei), you will have the chance to build one of the first large scale European battery factories by establishing a comprehensive process for training and education. About the job

You have the possibility to shape Northvolt's setup in Germany and contribute to a lighthouse project for Germany's energy and industrial transition. This role involves managing the training development team, coordinating with various departments, ensuring compliance with company standards, and driving continuous improvement in training methodologies and outcomes. The manager ensures that training programs align with strategic business goals and meet the needs of both employees and the organization.

You will maintain a close exchange with our colleagues in all other Northvolt locations to ensure continuous improvement and lessons learned. Furthermore, you will work together with different external parties, such as training providers, research institutes, universities and innovative industry partners.

About the team

You will be part of a highly dynamic, driven and dedicated team in a fast-paced environment. This means working in a cross-functional and international setup as well as acting as an intrapreneur. An outstanding impact and learning curve in this position is guaranteed. You will be in the department of operations in Drei.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop robust methods allowing training to become a key enabler turning our individuals and teams into the foundation for our success
  • Plan and implement training concepts for the needs of the manufacturing teams, while ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 requirements
  • Assess future external training programs needs from secondary and vocational to higher academic programs
  • Develop engaging training programs and courses, including manuals, multimedia visual aids, and interactive materials
  • Work with department heads and operations to understand training needs and align programs with business goals

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have :

  • Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, production, or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in a production environment to the development of training
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms and blended learning methodologies
  • Solid technical knowledge and background in lean methods and automotive standards
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent English and German written and oral skills

Bonus points for:

  • Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
  • Fluency in other languages (Japanese, Swedish, Chinese, French)
  • Experience from a multi-cultural environment
