Global ABM Director, Demand Generation (12-month maternity cover contract)

The Global ABM Director, Demand Generation is an experienced, data-driven marketer with a proven record of developing high performing, integrated, account-based programs in a matrixed, international B2B marketing organization. The global role is responsible for the strategic planning and development of account-based programs to drive demand and ARR across Net New and Customer segments for all key markets (EMEA, North America, APAC).

In alignment with Basware’s growth targets, the role will support the further development of sales & marketing programs, which includes:

  • Global Net New ABM program
  • Global Customer ABM program
  • Global Deal Based Marketing program.

The role will report directly into the VP, Marketing, Global Demand Generation, and function as a strategic marketing partner for sales leaders. You will join the Global Marketing Management Team and contribute directly to the on-going development of the organization.

You will be responsible for planning, developing, executing, measuring, and optimizing the three core Account Based programs, in alignment with overall global and regional priorities and targets. You will work alongside the regional marketing leaders to drive the global ABM approach into the regional markets.

The role collaborates closely with sales, BDRs, customer success and the rest of the Marketing team, to drive consistency and, where appropriate, scale across our account-based approach, with a relentless focus on delivering the pipeline needed to generate new recurring revenue.

In this role, we would expect you to be able take on the following:

  • Function as a senior marketing leader in the Demand Generation Team and help drive the organization to success.
  • Lead the end-to-end planning and development of the three account-based programs that engage net new Prospects and Customers through their buying journey.
  • Optimise the strategy to deliver sustainable results globally, focusing on pipeline generation, pipeline quality and sales cycle acceleration.
  • Ensure all account-based programs are insight-driven, audience-led, and supportive of our global strategy and growth objectives.
  • Adopt a cross-functional approach engaging marketing, sales, customer success, solution value consulting, and other relevant stakeholders to create a unified approach to our growth efforts.
  • Be a trusted partner and foster strong working relationships with Sales teams to ensure activities are delivering on sales objectives. Understand territory plans and align ABM marketing activities to these.
  • Drive annual and quarterly planning to ensure your programs use an optimal channel mix, have clear deliverables, drive maximum ROI, and create the required pipeline.
  • Maximize the use of the tools made available to you, and suggest improvements, new ways of working to drive even more value from our current / future tech stack.
  • Identify and test new initiatives and tactics and collaborate to continually think of new ways to optimise the account-based programs.
  • Improve performance reporting for all programs – what works, what does not work, refine, and optimize.
  • Effective and accurate management of a marketing budget.
  • In depth understanding of ROI from demand generation activities to continuously drive optimization.
  • Work with the Partner Marketing leader to ensure activities can also support the growth of our partner channel.

Skills & Requirements

  • Senior experience in a B2B marketing role, with proven experience delivering revenue growth through global account-based programs, in an international environment.
  • Experienced in Account Based Marketing, ideally across net new and customer segments, which undergo continuous optimization to ensure we drive business results.
  • A natural leader with the ability to influence cross functional leaders and stakeholders, gain commitment and hold them accountable to ensure the success of the account-based programs.
  • Digitally savvy, modern marketer with extensive knowledge of account-based programs.
  • Strategic and inventive mind with a thorough understanding of the prospect and customer journey and the trigger points in the buying lifecycle.
  • An expert understanding of the details of sales and marketing execution to ensure execution of programs on-brief, on-time, and on-budget.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to influence and gain buy-in at senior levels and articulate a compelling vision for key programs as it relates to long-term business objectives.
  • A proven ability to collaborate across marketing, sales, product, customer success, and other functional teams to drive towards a common goal.
  • Skilled project manager, with ability to successfully manage multiple priorities in a global organization.
