The Port Operations Manager is an individual contributor focused on the coordination of port operations both in the planning and cost optimization phases including operational execution in compliance with domestic and international regulations and requirement. You will also advise in the ideation and preparation stages of expedition product planning. This is a hybrid position based out of our London office near King's Cross. The HX hybrid model allows you the flexibility to work from home two days a week. As part of the Fleet Operations Team this position will report directly to the Director Fleet Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for building a global network of agents which are managed in a systematic manner.
  • Responsible for Port Agent vetting and evaluation of services.
  • Key contact for all Port Agent affairs.
  • Create a network and build a positive relationship with Port Operations partners around the world.
  • Book ports, prepare port budgets and optimize port expenditures.
  • Responsible for a detailed day-by-day harbour cost budget, forecasting, and issuing of Purchase Orders.
  • Control and first approver of invoices pertaining to Fleet Operations.
  • Arrange Port of Call logistics inside the ISPS area, including turnaround and inter-porting operation.
  • Solve ad-hoc challenges that occur during day-to-day operations.
  • Support our Irregular Operations Team in real time responses.
  • Support our Itinerary Planning and Product Teams in the ideation phase of our itinerary development and execution process.

Skills & Requirements

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Maritime and/or Port Operations Logistics, Shipping Management, Nautical Science, Technical or similar.
  • Three (3) years’ experience within port operations from the Cruise Industry with exposure to global operations (equivalent shipping experience could be sufficient)
  • Extensive experience from Port Operations in Polar Regions and world-wide small port operations from the luxury segment is preferred.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.
