We are looking for an experienced advisor to join our team of Financial Reporting’s Global Compliance Services (GCS) practice. The position is a role as an engagement manager within our group that specialises in supporting global clients with their Swedish subsidiaries’ statutory accounting obligations (including their annual reports). Acting as an engagement manager means being responsible for supporting the engagement members and reviewing their work.

The GCS practice blends our combination of practical and technical subject matter expertise in preparing statutory Swedish financial statements for our clients. We also help with Group to Swedish GAAP reconciliations as well as proactively supporting throughout our clients’ audit processes. Our multinational clients range from global leaders to mid-tier and smaller groups across a wide range of industry sectors.

In your role as engagement manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Up-front scoping and engagement planning
  • Ensure engagement compliance with PwC risk management policies
  • Reviewing Swedish statutory reports (including data collection) and GAAP analyses in order to ensure compliance with local laws/regulations
  • Having frequent interaction and coordinate with clients and the PwC network
  • Identifying opportunities to further support our clients with related PwC services and helping clients to manage their accounting risks
  • Organising, monitoring and managing projects to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Work with leadership on:
    • Overall project statuses
    • Budget compliance/management
    • Participating in proposals for potential new clients

Skills & Requirements

Your profile

We’re looking for someone who has hands-on experience from accounting and Swedish financial reporting (both K3 and K2), as well as understanding of finance reporting processes. You are able to plan, execute and prioritise projects where the scope of the project and time plan may change several times. You have high social skills and appreciate a role where international relationship building and trust are central.

To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Swedish
  • Approx. 4-5 year previous experience from hands-on working with Swedish GAAP
  • Experience of preparing and/or reviewing financial reports in accordance with Swedish GAAP
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and coordinate projects
  • Great skills of Microsoft Excel

It’s an advantage if you have:

  • Previous experience from working on a larger international accounting firm
  • Previous experience from working in an international network setting (e.g. to work across borders and cultures)
  • Previous experience from working with IFRS and/or US GAAP
  • Great skills in:
    • G Suite and/or MS Office
    • Capego

It is a significant advantage if you have:

  • Previous experience from working with financial reporting outsourcing projects for international clients
  • Previous experience working within the Financial Reporting module of Workiva
