The Strategic Buyer EMEA & ASIA will be responsible for managing the procurement and sourcing of fiber optic cables and related infrastructure components for our telecommunications projects across the EMEA & ASIA region. This role will involve developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships in cooperation with the respective Procurement Senior Buyer in each region. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, strong negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the fiber optic supply market.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for the Carrier & Colocation Procurement department to support the company’s telecommunications projects in the EMEA & ASIA region
  • Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate key suppliers in the region to ensure high-quality, competitive pricing, and development areas for new builds in the regions.
  • Contract Negotiation: Support contract negotiations in cooperation with the Senior Buyer to secure favorable terms and conditions, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and supplier capabilities, and use this information to make informed sourcing decisions.
  • Cost Management: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality or performance, in cooperation with the Senior Buyer.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team, network development, engineering, and other internal teams to understand project requirements and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential supply chain disruptions and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement and regional activities, as well as market trends, to senior management.

Skills & Requirements

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier management, with a focus on fiber optic cables and related infrastructure components.

• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

• Excellent analytical, presentation and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities

• 10 years experience in telecommunications
