Security Analyst – ITOT

A bit about the role:
Overview:

The Security Analyst will support and protect the business infrastructure (including networks, hardware, and software) from a range of threats. Performing a critical role, you will be responsible for security monitoring of networks and systems, detection, and response to security threats (‘events’), analysis and assessment of alarms, and associated reporting. Your role will include responsibility for resolving events or escalating them based on severity. The role reports to the Product Owner for Security Compliance who plays a significant advisory role to the wider business in all matters pertaining to security. At times, the Security Analyst will be directed to complete tasks associated with this broader remit and therefore the role is not limited to Cyber Security, presenting an opportunity for the individual to grow and develop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the PO of Security & Compliance in the development and adoption of security policies and standards.
  • Monitor for attacks, intrusions, and unusual, unauthorized activities.
  • Engage in ‘ethical hacking’ to determine weaknesses. ​
  • Investigate security alerts and provide incident support.​
  • Liaise with stakeholders on cyber security issues.​
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of security awareness training​.
  • Generate reports and supporting materials for security reports. ​
  • Support and carry out internal audits. ​
  • Use analytic tools to determine emerging threat patterns.
  • Ensure the protection of data in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and enforce Identity and Access Management (IAM) processes, ensuring appropriate access levels for users across systems and applications.
  • Collaborate with teams to design and implement IAM solutions, including role-based access controls (RBAC) and least privilege principles.
  • Regularly review and audit access controls to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
    Investigate and respond to IAM-related security incidents, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure accurate and secure account provisioning and deprovisioning.
  • Provide IAM-related input and insights for internal and external security audits.
    Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in IAM to recommend and implement improvements.

Skills & Requirements

About you:
Knowledge & Skills:

  • A passion for Cyber security and a keen interest in IT​.
  • Excellent IT skills, covering computer networks, OS, software, and security, with 3+ years of work experience in IT/information security.​
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience. ​
  • Certifications (in prioritized order): CISSP, CISA (desirable).
  • An understanding of the cyber risk associated with technologies. ​
  • Teamworking skills in order to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.​
  • Written communication skills, for example, writing technical reports.​
  • Verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, with an ability to communicate with a range of technical and non-technical team members and other relevant individuals.​
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and assess risks, threats, patterns, and trends.​
  • Excellent attention to detail​.
  • An ability to work under pressure, particularly when dealing with threats and at times of high demand.
  • Hands-on experience with IAM tools and frameworks is highly desirable.
