Product Manager

The Product Management team supports the entire organization, shaping and defining our products and services to delight our customers. We are here to enable sustainable, profitable growth by driving Arelion’s product development agenda and managing the product lifecycle. By combining insights from external and internal sources, the team drives our product vision, identifying opportunities to better monetize customer needs and build new competitive advantages. By working closely with stakeholders across the company, the team ensures commercial success across our routes-to-market, and capabilities for operational support in line with a high-quality customer experience.

We are currently looking for a Product Manager focused on our growing MEF3.0 certified Ethernet Layer 2 connectivity, encompassing connectivity between the world’s largest datacenters, top Cloud Service Providers, leading Internet Exchanges and customer sites across more than 90 countries. The product has been enjoying fast growth – and you will be tasked to continue, and accelerate, that journey. You will be working closely with sales to enable sustainable growth through new customer acquisitions, enhancing product features and delivering on the best customer experience.

The main responsibilities:

  • Set out a Product VISION, define the target portfolio and roadmap to take us there

  • Deliver VALUE – requirements/testing/launch - Clearly communicate product requirements, prioritize and order based on RoI and ability to execute

  • Improve VALUE. Track performance P&L – proactively drive ways of improving commercial success

  • Advocate CUSTOMER NEEDS – nurture ideas for new products/features and constantly seek ways of improve by bridging organizational siloes

  • Assess and analyze competition

  • Educate externally and internally

  • Ensure capabilities for operational success

  • Own Product Content

The main tasks are:

  • Acts as the knowledge leader for one of our core products, Ethernet, and be able and willing to drive the overall execution of the product roadmap.

  • Deliver features and capabilities to enhance the product & proposition, including launch of new product features & services or technology upgrades

  • Lead the development of business cases, assess impacts, create & implement delivery plans to launch product enhancements and new product initiatives

  • Take product and business ownership of key developments, defining clear business vision and working with technology and operational teams to deliver planned and new improvements for the Ethernet Product Portfolio

  • Work where necessary with 3rd parties to define requirements or align test and delivery timelines

  • Work with the marketing teams to develop and launch customer-facing messaging for use in marketing channels or in PR

  • Take product ownership of relevant product content in knowledge bases in all channels including web, intranet, operational FAQ etc.

  • Work with the legal team to develop relevant T&Cs and work on marketing claims substantiation where necessary

  • Act as center for product expertise and its evolution: customer profile, economics, platform technology, supplier offerings, industry development

  • You will be the “lender of last resort” in your knowledge area – the fixer of unfixed problems that no one else knows what to do with it

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have

  • Previous experience in Telecoms is necessary. A good level of expertise in Layer 2 connectivity solutions is desirable, along with an understanding of the use cases that they enable. You also need a good understanding of our business dynamics and markets
  • Demonstrable experience supporting projects across a number of teams in a constantly changing environment; ability to engage and drive product development activities cross functional and cross-cultural teams and manage the day to day operations around it.
  • Ability to drive results in an international high pace environment, understanding cultural differences, and collaborating seamlessly whether on site or remote; a good level of expertise in translating and driving proposition ideas into commercial success, along with strong communication skills to translate multiple projects into a single clear Product view
  • A data-driven mindset, analytical skills and strong business orientation
  • Excellent people skills, with a positive and collaborative approach and experience developing strong networks across multiple internal stakeholder and delivery areas
  • Resilient and able to adjust to changing objectives and communicate these positively to others
