With a focus on transparency, affordability, and innovation, Pyxis connects directly with local payment institutions to streamline cross-border trade and enhance payment experiences for clients and their customers.

Engagement Description

The FX Trading Manager at Pyxis will be a key player in guiding the company's foreign exchange operations within the Afro-Asian corridor. This role involves a mix of market analysis, trading, and strategic tasks related to finance and treasury management, with a focus on improving cross-border transactions.

You will also take care of customer and account management, ensuring risks are handled efficiently and clients are well taken care of. As a team leader, you will be tasked with building solid relationships with banking partners and overseeing the daily operations of the trading team.

If you have a background in cryptocurrency, it could be a plus, as potential opportunities in this area are being explored by the team. The FX Trading Manager will play a significant role in supporting Pyxis' mission to transform cross-border transactions within the Afro-Asian corridor.

Key Responsibilities

Market Analysis and Trading:

• Buy and sell currencies on behalf of clients or financial institutions using electronic trading platforms. Place orders and execute trades based on market conditions, client instructions, and risk management strategies.
• Interpreting market trends and evaluating the demand and supply ratios within various markets in relation to the company’s positions.
• Pricing & booking FX flows, hedging FX flows, and managing daily administrative tasks

Finance and Treasury Management:

• Monitoring and managing the organisation's bank relationships and liquidity management
• Managing foreign currency exposure and foreign currency payments
• Analysing various scenarios and risks and reporting to senior management including keeping track of economic news, market trends, and geopolitical events that may affect currency exchange rates.
• Daily cash management and foreign exchange risk management

Customer and Account Management:

• Understanding each customer’s business requirements and pricing the FX and fee to optimize the commercial return
• Continuous monitoring of all FX and funding exposure to manage risk within an allocated limit
• Monitoring and managing bank accounts and Nostro for satisfactory funding for settlement
• Assisting in the onboarding of new potential customers following policy and procedures

Relationship Building and Team Leadership:

• Maintaining good relationships with counterparty bank personnel and liaising with Operations to ensure bank account liquidity levels
• Team management and preparing management, board reports and compliance reports

Crypto Oversight:

• While Pyxis’ current focus is primarily on fiat currencies, experience in the cryptocurrency market is a plus. You will be responsible for providing oversight and guidance on potential future ventures into crypto trading.
