User Research Specialist

Welcome to Rovio! We are looking for a User Research Specialist to join our Game’s central team in Espoo, Finland!

Good product decisions begin with a deep understanding of user needs. Our user research team’s goal is to enable the game teams create top performing games by providing key insights that guide the product development process from ideation to launch.

You will work with both external and internal partners. You will help develop the user research culture and place the user needs at the center of our initiatives. Your research background coupled with your deep understanding of data will ensure that you’re an effective advocate for players and can provide strategic guidance about their wants, needs, and behaviors. You will empower the game teams to make player-informed strategic decisions and constantly look for best practices and methods, while developing our user testing culture. You will workclosely with all game teams, and most central teams.

Your key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Construct, organize, and execute studies and surveys designed to answer the relevant questions
  • Effectively sharing research results and recommendations across executives, engineers, program managers and other key staff in a way that inspires and drives action
  • Ensure that the gained insight is actionable
  • Empower the game teams by embedding knowledge in said team to eventually become a trusted advisor
  • Develop further our continuous user research processes

You will need these skills:

  • 3 + years in user research
  • Expert understanding of qualitative research methodology, such as interviews
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to visualize data in unique ways, present evidence and make recommendations to development teams
  • Must possess interest in games, game design and free to play economies for a wide variety of genres
  • Passion for helping teams create the best possible player experiences by informing great design with great data
  • Fluent skills in English
  • Ability to drive and prioritize own work
