We are building a talent pool to draw from as opportunities arise within the Blueprint Team.

About the Material Flow Automation Team:

Northvolt is keeping their eyes open on a rolling basis for an engineer with experience in the field of Material Flow Automation (e.g. AGVs, Transfer Stations, Automatic Storage Systems or Buffers, Robots, etc). Should you choose to accept this future focused mission, you will play a vital role in designing the infrastructure for enabling efficient and innovative material flow throughout the battery manufacturing process for our next big projects.
The work environment requires an enthusiastic problem solver. Your projects will be implemented in a production environment which has very high demands on cleanliness and up-time to reach the quality level and production efficiency. We will work with the best solution providers globally to pull this off utilizing a combination of proven technologies and design of new innovative solutions.
Now more about you: Your previous professional work experience as industrial engineer/project engineer/production engineer or other relevant positions has given you an eye for robust industrial designs. This combined with your experience and knowledge in technical project planning, design, commissioning, and manufacturing makes your implementations practical. You love to drive cross-functional discussions and consider and translate all the variables that matter to your internal counterparts and external global suppliers. Even in the face of complex industrial automation projects, you pay attention to detail when it counts, and know how to prioritize for timely delivery of your scope.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Shape the future of material handling in the battery manufacturing environment by creating the best solution concepts with suppliers in the design phase for material flow automation systems in advanced factories.
  • Coordinate and execute the design work of the equipment together with the suppliers and with other Northvolt departments (e.g. Construction, Strategy, Process, Purchasing, Digitization, Manufacturing).
  • Produce process flowcharts & concept documenation, identify interfaces with process equipment, and develop robust equipment solutions
  • Identify and interact with key automation solution suppliers in a international setting. Ensure suppliers understand and adhere to Northvolt’s technical standards.

About the Industrial Engineering Team:

About the company

Northvolt makes green batteries for a blue planet. Affordable cells and high-quality battery systems. All manufactured with a record-low carbon footprint. Purposely built to provide Europe with the opportunity to switch to renewable energy – efficiently and entirely.

To accomplish this, we do things differently. We design, manufacture, and recycle everything under one roof. We even build our own factories. All this is incredibly challenging and requires us to think in unconventional ways. We’re constantly experimenting, learning and adapting to make batteries so great – they will one day make oil history.

Northvolt is growing fast. We’re staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs, in Västerås, as well as our Gdansk facility for production of battery systems. We're also hiring for our gigafactory Northvolt Ett in Skellefteå, Sweden. We want to work with smart individuals from all disciplines. Strong individuals that truly want to make a positive impact on the future. Those of us already on board share a passion for our mission. We’re prepared to work hard in pursuit of excellence. We enjoy the ride and our main drive is to make a difference for real. As a team, we’re dedicated to thinking new, working hard and having fun.
