Santander Consumer Bank is looking for a skilled and motivated Legal Counsel/Lawyer, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, anticipate and deal with change in a forward looking way, and who actively seek out opportunities for cross-border collaboration.
Our Legal department currently consists of 13 Legal Counsels/Lawyers with extensive experience from both the financial industry as well as larger, Nordic law firms, and who provide ongoing advice to Santander’s various business areas in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. We are now looking for a skilled and motivated Legal Counsel/Lawyer with solid legal qualifications and relevant experience, for the role as Legal Counsel/Lawyer in our Regulatory Affairs team.
By joining Regulatory Affairs you will get the opportunity to work broadly within the bank’s operations by
- Advising the business on questions related to regulatory requirements connected to changes in products and processes, with particular focus on privacy and ICT law.
- Advising the business on questions related to regulatory requirements connected to various agreements, with particular focus on privacy and ICT law.
- Keep updated on regulatory developments within relevant areas of law, both nationally and at EU level, identify opportunities or changes for the bank, and assist with the bank’s implementation. Prepare consultation statements on behalf of the bank or associations of which the bank is a member, contribute in work with industry standards or similar, represent the bank in finance associations’ working groups relevant for area of responsibility.
- Maintain an ongoing dialogue with the bank's management and Santander's head office in Madrid on relevant matters.
Skills & Requirements
About you
You have a law degree/Master of Laws with good results, preferably from a university in Norway or the Nordic countries, and a minimum of 5 years of experience from relevant legal work. You communicate fluently in a Nordic language and English, both written and spoken. You can identify legal risks and give good advice on how to reduce the risk. You are independent, proactive and analytical. You are a team player with good teamwork skills, high integrity and motivation.
