Animator (RPG Studio)

Are you an artist passionate about making commercially successful games, creating good looking, user friendly and consistent mobile art that delight our players? Awesome, we at the Rovio Stockholm RPG Studio are looking for a talented Animator to help us with current and upcoming titles.

The role is very broad and you should be ready to tackle many different kinds of tasks, ranging from creative challenges to implementation tricks.

The Rovio Stockholm Studio is behind the hugely popular title Angry Birds 2 and while soaring on that success we are also developing several new IPs and exploring new game ideas within the RPG genre, as well as improving and expanding Angry Birds 2 even further. In the studio, situated in the south part of the city centre, we keep a flat hierarchy, a high level of transparency and an open communication. We challenge each other and ourselves in all we do here but keep the atmosphere friendly, inclusive, respectful and super supportive.

We invision someone whose creative output makes our team and players go bananas. You need a reel proving your animation skills, and the knowledge to implement your animations in a game engine such as Unity or similar is considered a great merit. You will be working closely with the other animators, artists, designers and programmers to create unforgettable experiences for our fans.

You'll fit in our flock if you have:

  • Excellent vision of what looks and feels great, and an ability to communicate that vision
  • 2+ years of experience in 3D and 2D animation
  • Ability to create great animations on time
  • Well functional cross disciplinary language
  • Strong interest in games and gameplay (focus on F2P mobile games)
  • Holistic view on game making, caring about all parts to make the best whole for our fans
  • Passion for defining, managing and refining processes in animation development
  • You are a doer that make sure things are moving forward at all times
  • Proven eye for animation
  • Excellent multitasking, organisational, communication, and team collaboration skills

We’d love you to have these feathers in your cap:

  • Strong passion for game animation, shown in your reel
  • Experience on published games using a game engine such as Unity 3D or similar
  • Enjoy spreading knowledge and fostering the knowledge creation
  • Eager to learn and apply new skills in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Open to feedback and enjoy working in a fast-paced, constantly iterating environment
  • Collaborative and consensus driven approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent English
