Performance Engineering Lead

Performance Engineering at Kindred is an exciting and highly prioritized area where building for Change and Automation is key. Therefore, we work with the latest technologies and methods to make sure we find issues before our customers do.

Our Performance Engineers are an integral part of the QA Team and work closely with all various teams and departments within the company (particularly development and architects). This makes it possible for us to ensure the quality of our releases and to build a high availability infrastructure.

In the Development work, the aim is to include performance testing and tuning of websites and mobile apps as much as possible in the daily work (continuous performance engineering). Our teams enjoy solving problems by white-boarding, pair-programming and rubber-ducking. We believe in continuously improving the way we work and making it easy for everyone to make their voices heard.

As a Performance Engineering Lead you will lead and enhance this area and team within the Tech organization. You will be the manager of highly skilled and passionate professionals within this area.

Skills & Requirements

Key accountabilities of this role are:

  • Define and execute on strategies for performance engineering within the overall company strategy
  • Manage the performance engineering team efforts (including 3rd line expert support)
  • Use and evaluate frameworks and tools like Performance Center, Gatling, Jenkins, Dynatrace, and Splunk.
  • Analysis and troubleshooting in order to continuously improve the quality and performance of every release. This is achieved by using an automated framework based on Gatling and Jenkins
  • Suggest new tools and techniques to improve testing efficiency
  • Proactive in bringing forward potential application performance risks with and suggest mitigation.
  • Effectively manage, plan, prioritize competing deadlines and requirements
  • Decision making with the ability to show initiative and creativity in dealing with day to day risks and issues related to performance engineering

We're looking for someone with the following skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Strong coaching and team lead experience, including performance management and conflict resolution
  • Strong responsive and attentive ability
  • Strong analytic and communicative ability
  • Actively seek and respond to suggestions and ideas
  • Strong experience in Performance engineering in both execution and management
  • Hands on experience with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk...)
  • Hands-on working experience with HP Performance Centre, LoadRunner, and Gatling
  • Strong experience handling Non-Functional Requirements
  • Strong experience in interacting with technical, infrastructure and business resources across different enterprise application teams to understand the scope and estimate the work effort effectively
  • Strong experience in analyzing performance testing results and troubleshooting issues
  • Strong experience in working with agile methodologies.
  • Experience from working in an online environment with scaling, high-performance web applications
  • Experienced in testing mobile solutions
  • Always stays calm and composed under stress
  • Never shies away from any tasks that help the team meet its goals
  • Always proactively share and knowledge, ideas and information sources.
  • Never is publicly critical of the team or the work of others. Always has a positive attitude

About the company

Kindred´s Stockholm office is primarily our tech hub where the websites and core systems are built, maintained and enhanced. Located in the centre of Stockholm the open plan office underwent a big expansion in 2016 to support the growth of the business and to give a fresh modern feel creating an environment benefiting our brand and our work culture including amazing modern workstations.
