Product Portfolio Manager

Do you want to drive and develop our product portfolio?

Northvolt is expanding the team with a Product Portfolio Manager. In close collaboration with our business segments, you will identify what products that we should develop within our product portfolioto. You will identify the requirements and standards that are relevant for our customer’s applications. The market for battery electrified products is expanding rapidly and optimized products and solutions will be a crucial part of the transition to a sustainable society.

You will be involved in market benchmark activities, attend customer engineering meetings, drive internal forums etc. in order to continuously evaluate and develop our product portfolio. The role requires leadership skills, deep technical understanding and the ability to set and communicate technical requirements to our engineering departments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Create and maintain a product portfolio strategy that ensures that our product development is in line with our corporate and business segment´s strategies.
  • Drive new product initiatives from feasibility to Go decision for developing new products.
  • Coordinate progress reporting in ongoing development projects and secure that deadlines are met.
  • Manage our product portfolio and work closely the business segments to make surre that it is covering our customers demands.

This role is an integral part of the product strategy. It belongs to the Business Development Team and reports to our Director of Engineering.

Full time employment, fixed salary, benefits TBD (start-up). Job requires travelling, mainly within Europe on a monthly basis

Skills & Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Material science, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of experience in product development of automotive (or equivalent) products or solutions
  • Client facing experience from sales, project management, or as a technical consultant
  • Knowledge of Electrical Energy Storage and Battery technology
  • A high level of technical knowledge and a strong business acumen is a must
  • Startup and growth company experience, especially from hardware companies where sales need to happen before a finished product is in place

  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills in both technical and business environments
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Ability to work in a high profile and often high pressure multi-cultural environment

About the company

Northvolt was founded in 2016 with the mission to build the world’s greenest battery cell, with a minimal carbon footprint and the highest ambitions for recycling, to enable the European transition to renewable energy. Northvolt’s team of experts is building the next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, it will be Europe’s largest battery cell factory and produce 32 GWh worth of capacity annually.
