Responsibilities
As Financial Controller at SF Studios in Sweden, you are the financial partner to the producers, production managers and production management. Your tasks will center on financial controlling in the production projects and for the Production business area, where you make monthly and annual closing processes. You will oversee costs and make adequate recommendations. You are the point of contact for the external auditor, report to the Swedish Film Institute, and collaborate closely with the business stakeholders. The job will contain lots of international contacts. Some of your tasks include:
Business operations and financial controlling
- Support producers and production staff in Sweden with day-to-day financial activities
- Oversee financial activities in our UK and US companies.
- Provide adequate support and recommendations to managers and producers within SF Studios for decision-making.
- Cost controlling of direct costs, overhead costs and suggest potential cost-saving initiatives.
- Overall responsible for cashflow analysis, planning, and liaise with group cash pool.
- Ensure that payment processes within the Swedish production follow SF Studios’ authorization rules and signatory policy.
- Main point of contact towards external vendor for transactional finance processes (Cognizant)
Monthly and annual closing processes
- Ensure that intercompany balances are reported and fulfill SF Studios accounting instructions.
- Ensure that all production costs and revenues are booked within the period and book accruals as needed.
- Reporting of monthly results and balance sheet reporting in line with SF Studios reporting schedule.
- Ensure that monthly reporting of production revenues, WIP and EBITA meets SF Studios accounting principles.
- Ensure fulfillment with annual reporting processes and deadlines.
Business processes and transformation projects
- Process adjustments or projects that will improve financial statements and reporting.
Other
- Overall responsible for financial reporting to domestic and international institutions.
- Support with documentation to PWC audits and respond to audit requests.
- Provide documentation for production audits and ensure eligibility criteria of SFI support.
In this role, you will report to the Finance Manager for the Financial Controlling Production team. The work location is in the heart of Stockholm.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, and at SF Studios, we believe you have:
- At least 7 years’ experience within financial controlling
- Relevant academic credentials in Finance or Accounting
- Good Excel and PowerPoint skills, enabling rapid assimilation of key insights/messages.
- Fluent in Swedish and good knowledge of English.
- Experience in cash flow management, balance sheets, tax, and more.
- ERP knowledge, and experience with Agresso is an advantage.
- Previous experience in the film-tv business is a big plus!
