We are looking for a passionate purchasing talent to join us as Project Purchasing Manager in our mission to contribute to a greener future. You will be part of our passionate and excellent Systems Supply Chain team working in office placed in Gdańsk. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.

About the role

As Northvolt continues to scale its operations to fulfill the customers need for turn-key solutions within the Automotive segment, we now offer the right individual a broad and exciting role with a possibility to make a lasting impact, both on the environment and Northvolt. The role will play an important role in defining and setting the ways of working within an IATF compliant value chain aligning the System organization to external expectations from both customers and Suppliers.

About the team

The Program Purchasing team is a small, to be expanded team, covering a wide range of purchasing categories within battery systems solutions. The team focus is about to be driving fast paced projects with a strong focus on standardization to increase execution efficiency.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Defining and categorizing project requirements associated with supplier selection
  • Aligning timelines and budgets with project and program management
  • Defining cost and localization targets in collaboration with Cost Engineering and Category Management
  • Driving Northvolt’s sustainability agenda towards suppliers
  • Acting as an escalation path relating to sourced components and services within designated programs
  • To define and setup ways of working relating to program planning and APQP together with PMO and SQE teams
  • Ensuring supplier compliance with agreed timelines and cost targets throughout the development and industrialization

Skills & Requirements

We believe that you have:

  • Working experience (5+ years) within automotive purchasing system deliveries (not individual components)
  • Project management skills equivalent to: PMI/PMP training/ IATF knowledge
  • Excellent English written and oral skills
  • Global environment working experience

  • Working experience with LCA analysis

The factory is a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions.

We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, as well as Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, in Gdansk, for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
