We are looking for a driven purchasing star to join us as Equipment Purchasing Manager in our mission to contribute to a greener future. You will be part of our passionate Systems Supply Chain team working in office placed in Gdańsk. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.
About the job
You will work in a fast-paced environment, independently driving purchasing activities meeting high set targets on compliance, timeline and competitiveness. You will be a key player in a wide range of projects and initiatives encompassing a large group of stakeholders, mainly within engineering functions. You will also be an active part in the co-development of category strategies for manufacturing equipment, where parts of your time will be dedicated to company-wide framework agreement development. About the team
The Systems Equipment team is a small and agile team covering a wide range of purchasing categories within battery system assembly solutions. The team is passionate about driving fast paced projects with a strong focus on standardization to increase execution efficiency.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading project purchasing activities for Equipment category – including purchasing full production lines and battery systems and production lines equipment
- Developing aligned category strategy to support Northvolt's growth and competitiveness
- Closely monitoring supplier performance and maintain complex business relationships with our current and future supply base
- Sourcing new suppliers and negotiating contract terms

Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have :
- A degree in Engineering and/or Management/MSc or MBA/Relevant University Degree
- Working experience (5+ years) from similar industry or consultancy
- Experience in complexed bi-lateral & multi-cultural business relationship
- Excellent English written and oral skills
Bonus points for:
- Experience and interest in manufacturing industry
- Fluency in other languages (German, Swedish, Chinese)
- Skills in cost structure & should-cost analysis

Northvolt is a European supplier of sustainable, high-quality battery cells and systems. Northvolt Ett is a next generation battery cell factory focused on process innovation, scale and vertical integration. Once completed, the gigafactory will be one of the largest battery cell factory in Europe and produce at least 32 GWh of capacity annually.
Alongside Northvolt Ett, Northvolt is also establishing a manufacturing site for battery systems in Gdansk, Poland. This facility, Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, will industrialize and produce world leading battery systems in order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market. The factory is a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions.
We are currently in an exciting fast-growing phase and operate in a dynamic environment, dealing with a wide range of stakeholders. We are staffing our international office in Stockholm, our R&D facility, Northvolt Labs in Västerås, as well as Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, in Gdansk, for production of battery systems. We are also preparing for upcoming positions at the main factory, Northvolt Ett, in Skellefteå.
