Job Description
We are looking for a mechanical engineer to join our development team and work with the design and implementation of our 3D DNA sequencer. You will work in a truly multidisciplinary environment where chemistry, mechanics, electronics, pneumatics, fluidics, optics, and software meet.
You will join our team and take responsibility of the design, test and assembly of optical components in our scanner. Tasks might include designing laser mounting/cooling, beampath adjustments, component selection, power measurements and optical alignment.
Within our small organization you have the opportunity to work with many aspects of product development, and we are expecting you to be self-sufficient and handle multiple ongoing projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide requirements raised by the optical design on other parts of the instrument
- Custom parts design
- Design for assembly
- Sourcing and integration of standard parts
- Align optics as part of our manufacturing process
Skills & Requirements
- Degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience working with optical setups
- Industry experience
- Experience of assembly
Bonus points if you have
- Experience in optical simulations in software such as SolidWorks or Zemax
- Experience in medtech
