We are looking for a dedicated Project Engineering Manager to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future.
You will be part of the Project Engineering team that will drive the construction of our new battery factory in Heide, Germany. Built in multiple phases over 5+ years the factory represents a multi-billion Euro investment project. Together with your colleagues from the Program team you will be accountable to lead internal and external teams cross-functionally to deliver on company targets and in line with customer expectations.

Responsible for managing the coordinated multi-discipline design of a Northvolt project from detailed design, As Built and final handover to the Northvolt Drei (NV3) Operations and Maintenance departments.
About the team
You will be expected to manage a project team of up to 20 engineers, based on site in Heide. Your project team will be expected to provide the technical expertise to challenge and optimise the design of the factory. As a leader of this project team, you will be expected to bring structure, drive consistency in project execution and provide guidance.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing the NV3 project design team for the entire project scope & ensuring that they follow the project execution plan.
- Preparing project design phase execution plan, time schedule and design scope of work.
- Managing NV design input to external design parties by interfacing with internal NV stakeholders.
- Managing external design parties, tracking progress and flagging any threats to the project.
- Managing the NV design reviews (discipline, safety, constructability, O&M) and modelling.
- Managing overall project design change and driving value engineering in overall project.

Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have:

M.Sc. or Chartered or Professional Engineer in the Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control or Industrial engineering fields

Minimum of 10 years experience in the design of heavy industrial, advanced manufacturing, or chemical process facilities. Other facility types that are seen as relevant and welcome: pharmaceutical, data centres, oil & gas, automotive, food & beverage manufacturing, etc.

Have experience in multi-disciplinary engineering coordination, interfacing with construction and internal/external stakeholders.

Experience in commissioning, start-up, and hand over of industrial facilities.

Fluency in English.

Familiarity with standard office and project management software tools and platforms.
Bonus points for:
- Battery factory experience is ideal, but not required.

Valuable (but not required) is fluency in other languages, including German.

Extensive Project Manager skills, preferably PMI, IPMA or equivalent.

Experience in commissioning, start-up, and hand over of industrial facilities.
