Introduction to the Team
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud Enablement team consisting of 4 Site Reliability Engineers in the Developer Foundations organisation. Developer Foundations’ mission is to enable developers throughout Schibsted to work efficiently, with a focus on cost, innovation, and by advocating for secure and reliable software development processes.
The Cloud Enablement team is responsible for the governance for cloud accounts used by Schibsted. This includes ensuring that accounts are configured correctly with respect to security, cost and reliability.
The team’s responsibilities include:
Cloud Account Management: AWS, GCP
Cloud Account Lifecycle management
Being the link between Cloud Vendors and Schibsted Teams
Promote best practices
Enforce compliance baseline
Cloud Financial Management: AWS, GCP
The team’s tech stack includes, but is not limited to:
Cloud infrastructure Automation (AWS/GCP)
Scripting (Python, bash)
IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation)
Dashboards (Grafana/PostgreSQL)
Container orchestration (Kubernetes)
In this role you will:
Analyse cost and usage reports and implement data driven improvements in regards to commitment levels and products
Be part of the Developer Foundations leadership team, helping forming the strategy and future direction
Collaborate closely with the Security team and other central teams
Help build reliable and scalable solutions that will be used by brands and teams in different parts of Schibsted
Work in a distributed environment with engineers based in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Poland
Manage a central team of engineers with backgrounds from different disciplines within software development
Develop people through coaching and mentoring. Conduct regular 1:1s, goal setting, feedback conversations with engineers to ensure their well-being and team health, and support them in their performance and growth. Continuously work to improve inclusion and belonging on your team and within our organisation

About you:
You come with a previous experience of working in a Cloud environment
You have a relevant education in computer science or IT
You have previous experience as an engineering manager
You have strong analytical skills

You are an effective communicator and bring strong feedback skills to your team
You have experience guiding the continuous improvement of processes and technology
You are interested in driving any kind of improvements (processes, collaboration, etc.) for your team
You have and take responsibility for the success of the team

You’re able to move forward when the path is not necessarily clear, and you bring your team with you in the discussions and challenges
