Now, Hurtigruten Norway are ready to increase the number of commercial ships on this iconic voyage. MS Otto Sverdrup sails from Hamburg to Norwegian destinations with primarily German guests, where we want new colleagues who can communicate in German.

Duties and responsibilities
As reception manager, you will be responsible for:
The operation of the reception, personnel responsibility and follow-up of reception staff and apprentices
Financial results at the reception. Including budget and time consumption.
To be a commercial driving force for sales in all departments on board in close cooperation with the hotel manager. Ensure that commercial activities are carried out in accordance with governing documents and, together with the hotel manager, ensure that the highest possible revenues are achieved
Follow and ensure that everyone in the department follows Hurtigruten's "Code of Conduct"
Ensure that everyone at reception works according to standards set in governing documents, laws and regulations
Attend daily meetings with the hotel manager to ensure goal achievement, financial results, and organize daily chores and events
Ship accounting and reporting on a monthly basis, including processing of daily settlements
Member of the hotel's management team on board the ship
Responsibility for the shop on board
All reception-related tasks
Ensure that the quality of reception is always excellent and that guests feel at home
Hotel college or equivalent, and/or certificate of apprenticeship in reception subjects
Professional expertise in guest experiences
Good IT skills and experience with Windows 2000/XP, Word, Excel, MS Outlook
You must be fluent in German and English. Advantage of Scandinavian language.
Hurtigruten set high demands for safety on board, which means that all employees must have; Basic safety course for seafarers, Crowd and Crisis course, and approved health certificate from authorized seafarer doctor. There is no requirement to have completed the courses before applying, but you must be willing to take them, and please note that the individual must pay for the courses themselves
It is desirable with
At least six years on a passenger ship or hotel, including a minimum of three years in a management position
You have a good understanding of what 5-star service is
Knowledge and experience with Fidelio Cruise (or similar Ship Management System) is an advantage
Advantage of HMOB certificate
