Job Description

We are a music tech startup working on new technologies for musical instruments. Our main product is ELK, a game-changing operating system for hardware musical instruments.

Our team is composed of motivated music enthusiasts with experience in various fields. We are well funded and we have a large office space in downtown Stockholm.

We are looking for getting a new intern in embedded software development. This is a great opportunity to start working on advanced real-time Linux solutions, being followed closely by people in our team of embedded experts. Check out our Tech Blog for more information about what we are doing.

You will:

  • Work on independent projects where you will have the chance to port our ELK system to new architectures
  • Write Linux and specialized drivers for audio devices
  • Customize BSPs for our boards using the Yocto / OpenEmbedded tools
  • Work closely with our embedded team that will follow you in your project

Skills & Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Passionate about music and familiar with music production tools
  • B.S. or similar in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar fields
  • Experience with Linux systems, at least in user-space
  • Experience in writing low-level C code for e.g. microcontrollers


  • Linux Kernel development experience (drivers in particular)
  • Real-Time programming experience
  • Knowledge of audio codecs
  • Familiarity with XMOS microcontrollers
  • Hardware skills, e.g. being able to read schematics, using an oscilloscope, etc.
About the company

MIND’s mission is to improve the way musicians and their audience interact through music. Our main product is ELK, a game-changing operating system for hardware musical instruments.

We have been awarded several titles (Best New Technology at NAMM 2019 and Best Music Startup at MIDEM 2016 among the others) and we are currently in discussions with many top musical instruments companies for licensing ELK to their products. The first device powered by ELK, the DV Mark Smart Multiamp, has been released in 2019.
