As Financial Controller at SF Studios Production in Denmark, you are the financial partner to the producers, production managers and management and support them in managing their financial control of the productions. You report to a Nordic Finance Manager for the Production business area. Locally, in Denmark, you have 3 colleagues supporting other business areas. The transactional finance processes are outsourced to an external vendor. The work location is in the heart of Copenhagen.

The job – financial project controlling and closing processes
As Financial Controller, your tasks will center on financial controlling in the projects and for the Production business area, and where you make monthly and annual closing processes. In this, you oversee costs and make adequate recommendations and provide support to the producers, production managers, etc. You are the point of contact for the external auditor, report to the Danish Film Institute, and collaborate closely with the business stakeholders. Some of your tasks include

  • Oversee that daily accounting made in-house and by external vendors is correct and in line with the accounting principles and applicable laws.
  • Prepare weekly or the requested timing of production cost reports or oversee that the vendor provides the information and reporting.
  • Provide adequate day-to-day finance support and recommendations for decision-making to managers and producers.
  • Overall responsible for financial reporting to the Danish Film Institute, tax incentives, etc.
  • Ensure that monthly reporting of production revenues, WIP and EBITA meet the accounting principles.
  • Overall responsible for cashflow analysis, planning of Danish production business, and liaise with group cash pool.

The profile – experienced project or financial controller, with a strong outset in accounting

As a person, you are hands-on and able to adapt to a fast-changing environment. When needed, you stand your ground and can deliver high quality even when facing tight deadlines. You have strong analytical and structured skills as well being a detail conscious person. You thrive with having room to influence and take ownership for your tasks, while you also appreciate being part of a collaborative team.

Professionally, you have a background in auditing with a specific focus on WIP and cost controlling or you work as a project controller. Additionally, you can confirm the following:

  • Relevant academic credentials in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience in cash flow management, balance sheets, tax, and more.
  • Ability to strike a balance between a partnering role and ensuring compliance with accounting controls.
  • Distinct analytical skills and an understanding of how to divide problems into relevant parts, securing quality in the details while keeping the overview of the deliverables.
  • Excellent financial acumen, reporting and communication skills.
  • Good Excel and PowerPoint skills, enabling rapid assimilation of key insights/messages.
  • ERP knowledge, and experience with Agresso is an advantage.
  • Fluent in Danish and good knowledge of English, and preferably understand Swedish and Norwegian.
