Senior Web Test Developer

About the role

Join our team as a Senior Web Test Developer for our e-commerce solutions, and play a crucial role in shaping our commitment to exceptional quality and user satisfaction. We are dedicated to delivering outstanding user experiences, and as a key contributor, you will have a direct impact on achieving this goal. Collaborating closely with our talented developers, UX designers and Product managers, you will contribute throughout the entire software lifecycle.

One of the key aspects of our work environment is our continuous deployment setup. This emphasizes the importance of automated testing, making it a critical component in maintaining the reliability and performance of our reMarkable web and cloud solutions. You will have the opportunity to select and implement suitable test frameworks, integrating them seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines. Your expertise will be invaluable in upholding quality standards throughout our development processes.

You will be part of the Test Automation Unit and work in cross-functional teams focused on delivering features with dedicated and competent colleges. You will report to the Engineering Manager, and the position is on-site in Oslo.

What you will do

  • Manage, develop, and implement test automation framework and tests into our CI/CD pipeline

  • Work in cross-functional teams to ensure high quality in the team’s deliveries

  • Collaborate with coworkers to enhance existing automation frameworks, compare alternative testing approaches, and build new systems

  • Identify, design, and deliver technical solutions (frameworks, tests, API hooks, tools) increasing test effectiveness and coverage

  • Implement metrics, analyze test data and results to identify patterns, report on risk status to development partners, and influence software quality

  • Experimenting with new technologies and tools to work smarter

  • Contribute to team processes through active participation

You have

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a SDET role

  • Experience with e2e test tools like Cypress, Playwright, Selenium etc

  • Experience with web software development, typescript and javascript

  • Experience with API testing

  • A quality oriented mindset, and want to continue to develop yourself and others

  • A wish to share your knowledge and build a strong area of expertise

  • Thorough understanding of the SDLC and tooling (GIT, branching/merging, build systems, CI tools and methodologies)

It is also an advantage if you have...

  • Experience with configuration and implementation of Continuous Integration systems

  • Experience working with project tracking systems like Jira

  • Experience with container technologies like docker or kubernetes

  • Experience with performance testing
