Working as a software engineer
Our software engineers enable Sectra to deliver products and services to our customers by designing, programming, testing, maintaining and evaluating software solutions. In short, they ensure that we can deliver products with the right features, which solve the right problems for our end-users. We want our solutions to be perceived as easy-to-use, future-proof and effective and pride ourselves in truly understanding our customers' environment.
Our agile development teams are self-organized and share a common passion for technology. They are responsible for both the design, implementation and quality of our products. Your main responsibilities will most likely include:
- Work frontend. Mostly with TypeScript and React.
- Be part of a team with joint responsibility for creating state of the art products in close cooperation with the product owner and end users.
- Evolve our way of working in cooperation with your team mates - we can always make things better.
- Contribute to better healthcare for millions of patients worldwide.

For example, every six weeks, a two day “RAD-Friday” is arranged where all our engineers have the opportunity to work on their own ideas. Ideas that often are incorporated into our products.

Skills & Requirements
At Sectra, we hire for attitude and ability – train for skill. This means who you are is more important than your previous experiences. There are a few core abilities that are central for any role. We always look for your willingness and ability to learn and take on new tasks fast, utilize previous experiences and quickly grasp new information. We also want you to have a strong analytical mindset in which we consider it to be important that you can understand and break down and solve problems. We also look for good communicators who have the ability to interact with colleagues, partners and customers in an effective, clear and constructive way.
In addition to these abilities, we also want you to:
- Have a Master’s degree within engineering, IT or similar with a strong academic record
- Have a strong interest in new and innovative technology and software development
- Be fluent in swedish and english both verbally and written
- Value customer contact and thrive in a fast-paced technological environment
We consider it a great asset if you:
- Have experience of software development in agile technologies
- Speak more languages than those required above
- Have interests besides school/work, such as sports, sports leader, music, horseback riding, singing or baking for example
- Don't like to sit in unnecessary meetings, we prefer to think and develop software
