TV & Video Streaming Platform Engineer

Purpose of the role

• TV Platform Engineer will be a member of the Engineering group integrated in a very high qualified experienced team. The TV Platform Engineer will work very closely with Product Managers and Product engineers as well as the operation department team members.
• As a member of the Engineering team, the candidate will participate in the design, architecture, and implementation of the Agile TV core platform for video management and distribution, to successfully run a maintainable Next Generation TV service.

Main responsibilities

Responsibilities include define, design, and integrate state of the art Video technologies, evolving our existing Platform and improving the evolution to cloud and Internet oriented TV and content services while being consistent with industry best practices.

The successful candidate will ensure robust, consistent, and resilient architectures and designs.

• Technology homologation and certification

• Architecting and design of video platform

• Product Engineering management

• Product Development support

• Technology benchmarking

• Vendor management

• Technical documentation

You must have:

• Expertise in encoding profiles, bitrate ladders, and video compression technologies, ideally in the TV industry (IPTV or streaming services).
• Knowledge of Video codecs and Multimedia containers formats.
• Video Transcoding and packaging services.
• Rest APIs and Event driven architectures.
• DRM technologies (Fairplay, Playready, Widevine…).
• Metadata management.
• Knowledge of Networking.
• Adaptative bit rate protocols (e.g.: Dash, HLS)

It would be great if you:

• IP-TV Multicast distribution networks
• Conditional Access System (CAS)
• DVB standards
• Cloud Services delivery (AWS or equivalent)
• Scripting with Python or equivalent
• Android TV certification process, web TV.
• STB QA and testing
• Experience with CDNs
• Data storage
