Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you need to have a relevant educational background (e.g., Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology) and strong experience in security operations, including intrusion detection and prevention, log analysis, and threat intelligence. CISSP certification is an asset that we appreciate, but do not require.

You will have relevant experience of conducting or managing incident response for organizations; working with security architects performing threat modeling; incident remediation, understanding of targeted attacks, and the ability to create remediation plans for compromised organizations. You will have a good understanding of secure network architecture, network operations, cloud environments (AWS/Azure), and infrastructure (Windows/Linux).

Forensic Analysis is an advantage, e.g., a background using a variety of forensic analysis tools in incident response investigations to determine the extent and scope of compromise, this may also include network forensics and malware analysis.

Management of operational teams is an advantage, for example, experience in managing teams in an operational service delivery environment including the coaching and development of team members, along with career and progress planning. While previous managerial experience is a plus, we are more interested in finding someone who is enthusiastic about taking on a leadership role.

Working in an international environment, you will need fluent spoken and written English language skills and good interpersonal skills are fundamental.

Meet the hiring manager

Matt joined Basware in 2007 and is currently leading the Security Team at Basware as CISO, responsible for a team of security managers and security specialists who in turn are responsible for security development, compliance, advisory, security testing, security monitoring, DevSecOps, etc. He is a highly experienced software and cloud services professional having performed many previous roles including developer, pre-sales consultant, consulting manager, managing director, and product management director. His management style is trust-based, and he enjoys mentoring team members to further their career success.
