Northvolt has an exciting job offer for an Electrical Test Engineer to join our passionate and growing team in Stockholm.

In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European battery factories and critical battery systems to enable the future of green energy. Northvolt will undoubtedly play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.

The Electrical Test Engineer will be responsible for delivering on the verification and validation activities on all electrical components of our batteries. You will be responsible for communicating validation needs, equipment, budget and risks to Lead Validation Engineers and will be reporting to the Electrical and Environmental Validation Manager.

You will be working intimately with the System, Electrical, and Hardware Leads/Engineers to ensure a robust and rigorous testing is developed and will be responsible for executing on the test plan.

In general you have a wide ranging experience (5+ years) in the field and have been driving large, innovative and challenging projects. Specifically, you have a deep understanding of working with BMS, Hardware and Electrical systems including both design and validation.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Execution (hands on) of Design Verification Plans (DVP) for systems, hardware and electrical sub-systems
  • Working closely with lead validation, systems and hardware design engineers to ensure DVP covers entire scope
  • Executing on the DVP. This includes the following (not limited to); test definition, test method, organizing test facilities, preparing test rigs, preparing test setups, purchasing equipment, conducting tests and write test reports.
  • Development of test rigs and automation System
  • Supporting on DFMEA’s, requirements Review

Skills & Requirements

Skills & Requirements

  • A degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics). MSc or PhD is a plus.
  • 5+ years working experience within the field of Systems, and Hardware Validation with experience with data acquisition systems such as National Instruments, Dewesoft, etc., and data processing and data analysis skills with Python scripts and System Link.
  • Experience with EMC testing and troubleshooting is a big plus with knowledge of IEC61000-6-2, IEC61000-6-4, IEC61000-6-7, FCC 15 part B, CISPR standard, LVD or equivalent is a big plus
  • Good understanding of common system components such as power distribution devices, communication interfaces, harnessing, thermal management, system parameters and their implications, such as grounding, short-circuit protection, power consumption and thermal performance.
  • Solid background within development engineering, R&D, and manufacturing.
